Wanna work with me?
My name is Morgan Landry, and I am the founder of the Celluloid Chronicles. I am originally from Nova Scotia and have moved to Toronto for University studies. I graduated from the Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) Image Arts; Film Studies undergraduate program, and have plans to return to academia for a Master’s degree.
During my time at university, I had the opportunity to work on multiple projects a year in different roles. I discovered my love of prop construction and overall art department work very early in my career. The audiovisual repair work started independently after my first year, buying old cameras from thrift stores and restoring them for fun in my free time. This then led to a career in my third year of university when I was hired to be a Repair Technician Assistant for the Technology Resource Center at TMU. Since then, I have learned how to do a variety of repairs using techniques such as soldering, 3D modelling and printing, welding, woodworking, sewing, and diagnostics. I took on a maintenance role of the university’s soundstage, photo studio, and darkrooms. I did equipment checks, chemical mixing, and machine maintenance. In my final year of university alone (2025-2026), I created an original 5-exhibit art show, worked as a production designer on 2 short films, hosted 2 set safety workshops, mixed over 50 gallons of photo chemistry, built props for 2 films, and wrote/published a book on historical photographic printing.
I like to take the saying “taking work into my own hands” seriously. I work best with projects and tasks that require tools, construction, creations, and setup. For this reason, I thrive in the Art Department, working in film and theatre, as well as in equipment repair. Whether it's building a prop for a film scene, needing tech support on set for equipment tune-ups, or requiring a set dresser or production designer, reach out! I would love to hear about your project and see if I can help in a meaningful way.
No project too big, no prop too small!
